Do “bad” things happen in 3′s??

Have you ever heard the saying that bad things happen in groups of 3?? I have always heard people say that, but never really experienced it first hand… until now.

So, yesterday I told you about 1) my missing kitty and 2) the broken plumbing underneath my house. Well, the third and scariest of all occurred this morning to my lovely dog Cailin. (I know my “About” page only lists my two doggies, Aiden & Bailey, but I also have 2 of my dad’s dogs living with me as well; Cailin and Riley).

When I got up to go to work this morning, Cailin was acting very weird. Usually she has loads of energy and such a huge personality, but today she wasn’t herself. Then I noticed she couldn’t walk or stand, was having trouble with her motor skills, and had extremely dilated pupils.

Of course, I freaked out and thought the worst. I googled her symptoms which scared me even more because the results mentioned things like “stroke”, ”toxic poisoning” and “organ failure”.

Prior to this incident, Cailin has always been very healthy, and is only 7 years old!

She was promptly taken to the vet, who charged me an arm and a leg just to say that they “don’t know” what is wrong with her… They did do blood work to confirm that it wasn’t poison or organ failure, and everything looks okay. The vet eventually came to the conclusion that she had a seizure and they are not going to do anything to treat her at this point because they are not sure of the cause. If it happens again, then more tests will be done, but for now they sent her away.

Throughout the day her lovable personality has slowly returned, but it was a very scary incident. Hopefully it was a one time event and she will be okay!!

Here is a picture of Cailin with my Mommy from a few years back:

Do you think bad things happen in 3′s?

I just hope that this was the last of my bad luck and that Cailin recovers fully to be back to her healthy and hyper self!

Have a great night!

Sorry for the hiatus!

Hello blogworld!

Justine here… Sorry I haven’t been around much lately.  Life has been really busy during the last week and I let my blogging fall behind. So sorry!! It won’t happen again ;)

If there is anyone out there that reads our new blog, please comment! Dani and I have been the only commenters thus far and would love to hear from our readers (if we have any… yet)  I know we will!!!!

My weekend was okay… Just okay because I had a few minor issues, and one MAJOR issue.

Major: The plumbing in my house has completely gone wacky and is dumping ANYTHING that goes down the drain under my house. Ahhh… Hopefully it won’t cost mucho dinero to get this issue fixed. Right now I can’t even bathe at home! Thank goodness I had already planned on dinner at my Mommy’s house tonight, so I will be able to shower there!

Minor: My cat was missing Friday – Saturday! This is only minor because he has since been found! I was out of town visiting Danielle in Leesburg, so I couldn’t do anything about it! Luckily, Once I returned from Dani’s, I found him! He had fallen through one of the holes that are now in my floor due to the plumbing problem.  He is a little fat cat, so once he fell through into the crawl space, it was too far for him to jump back up and he got stuck! I heard his faint little ‘meow’ and saw him come running through one of the holes. I couldn’t pick him up from that angle, but there are openings outside along the bottom of the house, so I opened one up and called him to me so he could escape. I am so happy he is okay!

My fat cat - Toby Tyler!

Since I don’t currently have a working camera (I am hoping to have one soon since Christmas is right around the corner… hint, hint!) I have been using either my phone, or not taking photos at all. Still waiting on Ms. Danielle to upload the pictures from our night out at Ember… She is a very busy girl though with full time work, school and being a mommy to two incredible little boys, so she has a valid excuse!

My weekend eats looked something like this:

Hummus & Veggies

and this:

A Must!

and also lots of these:

Yum, Yum, Yum

This weekends workouts consisted of some Exercise TV on Demand, I did Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred x 2. I also took my girls running at the Sanford Riverwalk again and did interval walking/running for approx. 5 miles.

I look forward to getting on a regular blogging schedule and especially having a new camera that works. Have a great night and I will be back tomorrow with a recap of my family dinner at my Mommy’s house!  :)
